Sitting in a large circle on the floor, tell the group that someone has given you a very special gift. Then pretend to open a package–miming the size and weight of the box, removing any imaginary bows and wrapping paper, and lifting out the “gift” inside.
Next, use the gift in some way that lets the students know what the object is. For example, you could mime holding a small jewelry box, pull off the bow, lift the lid, and take out an invisible ring. Then pretend to put the ring on your finger.
When the students have correctly identified the gift, pass the imaginary box on to the next person in the circle. At that point, the person receiving the box can change the size and weight of the box to hold whatever they have chosen to be their gift.
Continue around the circle giving each person a chance to open a gift.
