UNIT VII. Story
Beginning, Middle, and End
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
1) Create and act out a scene with a beginning, a middle, and an end.
2) Review and practice concepts introduced in previous lessons.
3) Prepare for the final workshop performance.
1. WARM-UPS
Lead two or three physical and vocal warm-up activities.
2. SKILL BUILDING
Paper Bag Scenes (All concepts) Inform the students that they will be creating and acting out scenes in teams. They should use the props in their bags to tell a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end. They should also try to incorporate everything they have learned up to this point as they prepare and perform their scenes. Remind them to incorporate physical and emotional character traits, as well as using the props to enhance their stories. After all the groups have performed, select the best scenes to perform at the final workshop performance. If time permits, you can change the composition of the teams and create a second or even third round of scenes using additional bags and props.
